Ski to Sea Triumph!

The Bellingham Tennis Club "You Got Served" 2009 Ski to Sea team had a terrific time on what had to be one of the most beautiful Ski to Sea days ever! Everyone met their personal goals on their legs and the team finished 158th overall (out of 411 teams) and 6th in the Whatcom County Mixed division. Nicole said she got to ski behind the guy in a speedo and suspenders (who turned out to be Robin's neighbor)and Robin (her first time ever in the canoe)was especially proud that she and Ginny stayed upright the entire 18 miles with only two encounters with shrubbery and one unintended beaching.

Here's our team:
X-C Ski: Nichole Connor
Downhill Ski: Meilani Obra
Running: Bailey Shewchuk
Road Bike: Doug Robertson
Canoe: Ginny Spooner & Robin Robertson
Mt. Bike: Scott Young
Kayak: Mary Rawlins

March of the Moles Benefit Ride Congratulates Avery West!

Congratulations to Avery West who won our Kona Africa Bike as part of the March of the Moles raffle to benefit the Kona Bike Town Africa Program. The bike was donated by Kona and is the same bike that is sent to Africa (currently in Uganda)for health care workers to use in transporting HIV/AIDS medications to patients.

We had about 50 cyclists who joined in a 21 mile ride on what turned out to be the most gorgeous day in March! The ride had challenging hills, lots of food at our rest stops, and beautiful scenery. Thanks to everyone who participated! We look forward to a bigger ride next year.

Special thanks to the sponsoring groups that helped make this event happen: Jack's Bicycle Center, Kona Bikes, Mt. Baker Bicycle Club, EveryBody Bike, and Fairhaven Bicycle Racing Team. You are awesome!
